Hitting the Links!

If you know me at all, you know that I absolutely LOVE to play golf. It's the only time I will wake up before the crack of dawn without a single complaint! I always end up playing with my Dad and sometimes even get to spend some quality time with my Grandpa and Uncle Chris (who looks like he's my cousin! Keep scrolling down and you'll see what I'm talking about!) as well. It's an expensive past time, but it's always money well spent- even if we all play terribly! The old saying rings true, "I'll take a bad day on the golf course over a good day at work!" Of course I now have to bring along my new sidekick every time we hit the links. Here are a few shots from two different outings!

These first three shots are from Birdwood on the Saturday of the UVA/UNC football game. We hit the course extra early (7:45!!!) so we could get 18 holes in before we hit the tailgating/football game! Sounds like a perfect day right? It's pretty close!

These next shots are from Spottswood Country Club in Harrisonburg, VA. My Dad took off on a Friday and we spent the day with my Grampa hitting around the little white ball! It was an absolute blast and the course was really pretty, especially since the leaves had changed colors and were at their peak! I think this day may have actually been the perfect day: golf in the morning, UVA basketball that night followed by tailgating and UVA football early Saturday morning!

The views on the course were so beautiful!!

This was Dad's Birdie putt!... Yeah, he missed it...

Hole 18, my shot from 40 yards out. Birdie putt ensuing... and I missed it!!!

NOVA

I made a trip up to Northern VA (NOVA) this past weekend to visit some old college buddies. I met up with Sarah and Ryan late Friday night and stayed at their place. I played basketball at the University of Mary Washington with Sarah, and Ryan is great pals with Bill so we always have a great time whenever we hang out! They were babysitting a mutual friend's kid - Justin. He may be the cutest three year old I've ever seen! We planned on going into DC on Saturday to take him to the National Air and Space Museum as well as the Natural History Museum. We all had an absolute blast, and of course I had to whip out my camera and catch some shots of our day! I also met up with another old friend for some portrait shots. Here are a few of my favorites from the weekend!

After the National Air and Space Museum, we walked around the mall to the National History Museum. I got some great shots along the way!

Here's my favorite picture from the weekend! Justin is sooo cute!

After the museums, I met up with another good friend that I played basketball with/shared a room with/had a BLAST with at Mary Washington! It had been waaaay too long since we saw each other, so we just walked around the mall and caught up! As we were walking, we occasionally stopped and got some portrait style pictures for her so she can get some prints made for a Christmas present for her mom!

Heather & Andy

If you didn't know by now, my older sister Heather got married a little over a year ago to a great guy, Andy. She went from being a Shifflett to being a Roach, and now they're in the process of building their first home together in Madison. Heather wanted me to come out and take some pictures of both of them at their lot and house so they can send out their Christmas cards! We went right before sunset and got some great shots!

What a beautiful view to drive home to!

The house is a little under halfway finished. They hope to be able to move in by the end of January!

They will have a big back deck to walk out on when the house is complete!

Here's a view of the sunset from Heather and Andy's bedroom window/porch door. Gorgeous!

I can't wait until their house is finished and they've moved in! Bill and I will be frequent visitors of one of the guest rooms!
